FAQ
Short answers for people and for models. The live board is on the homepage. Ranking math is on rules.
What is indieapp.lol?
- A public paid leaderboard for indie apps and products. There are no accounts and no algorithm. Rank is what you paid: you pay once, your URL or X handle goes on the board as a sponsored listing, and anyone can stand above you by paying a higher total.
How do I get listed?
- Enter a product URL or @handle and a whole-dollar amount, then pay with Stripe Checkout. New listings start at $5. A completed payment is what claims the rank — not the success page.
How much does #1 cost?
- Taking #1 costs at least $5 more than the current top listing. Paying less still puts you on the board at whatever rank that amount can take. Maximum amount is $999,999.
What happens if someone pays more than me?
- They stand above you. Your listing stays on the board at its paid total. Enter the same URL or @handle again to raise it; you only pay the difference, and the new total must be at least $1 higher.
Do I need an account?
- No. Identity is the URL or X handle you pay for. Whoever pays for that identity raises that listing.
Where do clicks go?
- Each listing links out through indieapp.lol with utm_source=indieapp. Clicks are counted for the hourly trending list.
What can I list?
- A product website or an X @handle. App Store, Play Store, and GitHub-style links are keyed by path. Chat/invite links, NSFW, and raw shorteners are blocked. Query strings are stripped.
How is this different from Product Hunt or a directory?
- Those sites rank by votes, recency, or editorial taste. Here the only ranking signal is money already paid. Older equal totals keep the higher rank.
Is this a subscription?
- No. Every sponsored listing is a one-time Stripe payment. You stay on the board at that total until someone pays more, or you raise the same URL or @handle.
Can I advertise an indie app without a Product Hunt launch?
- Yes. There is no hunter, no upvote campaign, and no launch window. Enter a URL or @handle, pay, and take the rank that amount can buy.
